The Arena Joondalup played host to some of the northern suburbs best young band talent on Friday 26 October 2012. The event attracted a great crowd of band supporters, keen to cheer on their friends in the 2012 City of Joondalup Battle of the Bands Competition.
All of the bands competing were of a very high standard and the competition was extremely tight. At the end of the night, the expert panel of judges from Xpress magazine, Joondalup Music Centre and the City’s Cultural Services team gave the bragging rights to the talented band Crank, who have won the opportunity to perform at a City of Joondalup event in 2013. Crank also won a host of great prizes including two days of recording studio time, a $250 voucher courtesy of event sponsor Joondalup Music Centre, a promotional package courtesy of event sponsor Xpress magazine, and 20 band T-shirts and 500 band stickers.
In second place was electronic duo Rainbow Season, who won one day of recording studio time, a $150 voucher courtesy of event sponsor Joondalup Music Centre, and 100 band button badges and 500 band stickers.

In fourth place was Silent Shock, who put in a great performance to win a $100 music voucher.
Guest performances by the Padbury youth hip hop crew and local singer / songwriter Kimberley Heberley also proved to be a big hit with the crowd.
