Music Edge and Behind The Wall are running the second instalment of LIVE: DIY music workshop. 

The workshop is free for ages 15-25

Time; 5:00 – 7:00pm
Date; 25th February 2019
Location; Currambine Community Centre

The workshop will cover topics such as;

- Stage presence and artist branding tips.
- Song writing tips and how to make a song from good to great.
- Making a supercharged set list with notes on lighting.
- Building a stage plot and input list.
- Learning how to make the most of your onstage experience and interactions with crew.

We are sorting prizes from Local BMX and Beyond Skate for the last event in the Skate Comp Series for 2019! 

This Saturday - 23rd - Head down to Mirror Park, Ocean Reef from 12 -1pm for registrations. 

Dont Drink & Drown will be on the BBQ cooking some snaggs 
Ozzie Rider - Perth Amusement & Event Hire are bringing some inflatable fun
Find Your Vibe Art Therapy are getting creative with some grip tape art

CALL FOR ARTISTS!

The City is now calling all bands, soloists, DJ’s, hip hop artists and talented young people to showcase their musical abilities in the City of Joondalup Defeat the Beat competition.

There are a number of conditions you must meet to enter the competition, as follows:
• Soloists or group must be aged 12 to 18 years (inclusive);
• At least one group member resides or attends an educational institution within the City of Joondalup;
• Individuals may only represent one group or solo act;
• New and emerging entrants may be prioritised over groups who have received first place in previous Defeat the Beat competitions; 
• Material and performance submitted must not contain offensive material or coarse language;

You or your group will need to complete this entry form and submit a link to your music by 8 March 2019. This can be either an original performance or a cover performance and doesn’t need to be of a professional recording standard.
From the entries received a number of acts will be selected to perform at the final competition on 17 April 2019. Artists should be aware that they will need to be available on this date.

Great prizes are up for grabs including studio time, photo shoots and more.
